Before I start writing anything, I would like to state that the game in Zimbabwe has already gone back by 20 years. If at the momment, they cant even produce a team which will stand up to teams from Scotland and Ireland, then things are really bad from a Test Playing nation point of view.

Does the Asian System fast track a number of cricket teams in a shorter span of time, or is the European league Structure better?. I tend to agree with the latter. In my opinion, the former actually manages to impede the development process in some promising countries. I will give an example….. of Nepal.

It seems to me that Ireland and Scotland Cricket teams are on a ‘no turning back’ road as far as the improvement and populairty of the sport in their respective countries is concerned.

The ICC-Asia region can generally be divided into 4 sub regions as follows
Middle East: Oman, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Iran, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia.This region can be expanded to incorporate other countries when they start playing cricket in the future, i.e. countries like Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon.
