The ICC has for the last 2-3 years been desperately looking for ICC ‘events’ which can generate some money for it, so that it can go ahead and improve it’s development program. The world cup is obviously their cash cow, but there is also the biannual Champions Trophy. Last year, they added the Super Series [...]

Today I was just browing the web and I came across a scorecard of a match between Bermuda and Australia in 1995. The funny thing is that this was a full australian side, I think either they were just coming back from WI or going there and they were i no mood to throw the [...]

The Zimbabwe Crisis is likely to put all of ICC’s, or should I say, the test playing nations revenues to waste. There are some basic reasons why all this happenned, and it is essentially a political issue, not a cricketing one. The question now is, should the ICC be looking forward to making another investment [...]

Around the end of 2005, ACC Development managers visited China and answered some good questions about the future and development of cricket in that country. Personally, I do not see China doing anything until at least another 10-15 years, which is normal. But it seems that they are on a faster track, because they are [...]

With the ICC giving 6 new countries an ODI status for nearly 3.5 years, this debate has started off once again about them not being ODI standard. Some say that they are not ODI standard because they do not stand a chance to win a match against the big guns (which excludes Bangaldesh and Zimbabwe [...]

The ACC has recently made two interesting annoucements. One is that the ACC Trophy 2006 will be held in Malaysia in August. This tournament is going to have 18 teams participating, which means that China, for the first time, will be fielding a team. Though I expect this team to be extremely weak, but still [...]

I think I have figured out a solution for the ICC Asia region, whether there should be a league structure or Cup structure.
I think there should be both. Europe style 3 six team divisions, and also a sub regional knockout cup. That way, you will ensure that the best teams are getting the best oppurtunities, [...]

Ever since their promotion to Test Cricket, Bangladesh have been at the end of everyone’s criticism. Most common criticisms are based on the argument that they are devaluing the Test Cricket records and also are a threat to the integrity of the game.
When South Africa started playing the game, way back in 1890, their team [...]
