Kenya is going to tour Uganda in May for 3 One Day matches and a 4 day match. This is good for Uganda, and it is good that the countries are organizing tours themselves irrespective of whether they have ODI status or not, and also whether they are playing in intercontinental cup or not.

This is great news for Denmark, that another player from their country has managed to make it to the English County Circuit. Looks like an injury to the main keeper batsman has led Fredrick Klokker into the Warwickshire team and he has made his playing debut in first class cricket. But unfortunately, like Amjad Khan [...]

I have been mentioning Malaysia as one of the best associates to have done strong junior cricket development elsewhere on this blog. It seems that they have once again bagged a sponsor for nearly $200K, over a period of 3-4 years, to help out with their juniors. Its a good thing that they are trying [...]

Mathew Engel wrote an article in Wisden, bordering on the foolish, launching an attack on the globalisation of cricket. I have below, my comments on some of the statements that he has made. The excepts from Engel's article are in bold-italic, while my comments are in the normal font.
Every year, it insists, there has to be [...]

I believe that one of the litmus tests for the new ODI nations will be how many tickets they can sell for their ODIs that they are hosting at home. Looks like Ireland is doing pretty well. The original capacity of the stadium was 6300, which they have now increased to 8000, and nearly all [...]

U19 WC 2006 was the most competitive WC ever in the history of cricket. Not just at the U19 level, but at an overall level. Bangladesh was a forerunner to the title, and both WI and Zim had very strong teams. In addition, Nepal was like a test country's junior team, while Ireland managed to [...]

Argentina has beaten Bahamas to win Americas Div 2 title and proceed to Div 1. From Div 2, Belize have been relegated to Div 3.
Argentina was always the strongest team in this division and I was actually surprised at why they are playing with the rest of these teams anyway. But it looks like Americas [...]

Bermuda's Tour of Trinidad has been hit by unavailability of some of their semi professional cricketers. This is strange news to me, because I personally thought that the only assocaite country where the cricketers were given time off for national cricket duty very easily was Bermuda, in addition to the fact that they are already [...]

This will be really good for Scotland if England do accept the invation. As one can see from the Ireland v England match this summer, these two British Isles countries manage to draw their biggest crowds against England. Scotland would be able to sell a quite a few tickets and get some money going to [...]
