Actually, I was thinking of making a posting about Zimbabwe when their A team first drew the second 5 day game against Bagnladesh A, and then went a step further and beat them in the last. Things dont look so bad regarding talent in Zimbabwe, even amongst the black population.
However, I think it would only [...]

Well….. I dont think it is going to help them that much because they dont seem to have the high talent level…. but it is good nonetheless that they are trying to enable full time players, at least for the short term. This is inherently a flawed way of going about it, to ask the player [...]

In the 1979 ICC Trophy, which was going to give a berth to the 2 finalists for the 1979 World Cup, Denmark was the only team to achieve 16 points, 4 out of 4 wins in their group. Their group also contained Canada, who they beat very easily by 46 runs. The ICC Trophy format [...]

The ICC should also think about allowing 2 more, West Indies like conglomerate teams to be formed. They would be :
Channel Islands consisting of Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man
Pacific Islands consisting of all the Pacific Islands. This would include Fiji as the main center, and also Vanuatu, Tonga, Cook Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Marshall [...]

Gloucestershire 2nds have beaten Denmark quite comfortably in the 2 games that both teams used as warm ups. Denmark used them for the warm ups for the Euro championships and Goucestershire used them for the 20 20 championship. At least in the first match Gloucestershire fielded a strong enough team with 5 players from the first [...]

Bermuda all out for 74 in 19.4 overs
Jamaica 75/1 in 5.5 overs.
Bermuda is one pathetic cricket team, which begs one to ask the question about Canada who lost out to Bermuda in an ODI match recently. Certainly, if Bermuda, with their near full team, is giving this kind of a performance in a format that [...]

Ireland have annouced their squad for the Euro championships with Kenneth Carroll and Boyd Rankin making their way into the squad. The team is much stronger than the one that faced England with the addition of not only these two prospects, but also Neil O Brien, and Eion Morgan. Paul Mooney was one of the [...]

Strangely, the U17 and U23 tournaments have the same standings at the conclusion. Ireland wins both, Netherlands runners up in both, Denmark without a win in both, and pretty much were never in any one of the games. The status quo is a little bit different from previous years, when Netherlands always used to have [...]

Outstanding performances for Netherlands: Harto Seelaar 37, GM Mol 35, Van Everdingen 33, B Westdijk 5-0-28-3, Borren 7-0-18-1

(I am surprised by this result. Looks like Netherlands have another fringe bowler who is expensive but a wicket taking person… Westdijk)
