BTB recently carried an interview with Tim De Leede about Dutch cricket…… De Leede raised 2 main points, and one of them was about lack of playing numbers…. I was surprised that Rod Lyall did not mention this in his article a while back….. It seems to be that the major problem with Netherlands in [...]

Good that finally a Dutch player has also landed a county contract this year. Though their pace of getting incorporated in the English domestic system has been much slower than that of Ireland and Scotland, at least someone has joined. Perhaps Van Bunge will also be offerred a contract for the next year. At 17, [...]

Perhaps quite depressing, one would have thought that Uganda can at least compete with Kenya. but as I mentioned in a comment a while earlier, the [...]

Unless the associates were to go ahead and beat test teams in at least 2 ODIs, the ICC is not going to count them in the table. The ICC is maintaining a seperate table for the associate v associate games, one that Bermuda is topping at the momment. Perhaps the rankings from this table can [...]

Recently, there have been many articles about Dubai losing all its cricket grounds because the city government thought they would remove them and build multiplezes or something like that over there instead. A classic case of a problem that you have when the playing population is all a minority that is not even represented in [...]

I have come across an update on the Maldives cricket board website about a Cricket Carnival that they held recently. Personally I am a little surprised that only 170 kids were particiapting, and not a 1000……. but nonetheless, it made me think that every club in Netherlands needs to hold such an event, for at [...]

I have been following the newspapers of both countries and there has been a decent amount of interest shown by both nations in covering the ongoing tour…… this bodes well for Cricket in East Africa……
To me, such 10 day tours should be the norm between the East Africans, now that Tanzania is doing well too…… [...]

Sure, it is taking root……. it is in the seed plantation stage, by no means should it is considered to be ready for harvest, perhaps not in the near future either……. I read this article, and the only reason I thought I should post this is because it actually spells out some numbers….. 19 primary [...]

New Vision today reported on the plans of the Ugandan team during their series against Kenya.
I have some comments.
First of all, the article mentions the Kenya/Bermuda/Uganda in Novemeber, again. I think that since this time it has come from the Uganda Cricket association itself, it should be taken a sure bet. This is good omen [...]

Both the ACC and ICC have equally split up the number and are going to fund the development programme in China. While I think that ACC have done more than their share of funding, I think the ICC could have done more. China is 25% of the non-cricketing world population, so $1mil perhaps should have [...]
