I was talking to a friend yesterday, and I mentioned to him that Pakistan cricket team has a funny history of giving their worst performances when they are in do or die situations…… perhaps there are a few exceptions to that, but from memory, in the last 10 years, whenever Pakistan has been faced with [...]

So I am wondering if the ICC should change their eligibility criteria in the following way: You can become a deemed national after residing in the country for 4 years, if and only if you have NOT held any paying job associated with the associate’s cricket board (or clubs) in those 4 years. See what [...]

I think this is really good news. I believe that Scotland is trying to get around $500,000 (about 270K pounds) per year from the govt if they get incorporated as an elite sport in sportscotland. That would be a huge jump, from the current level of around $80K (50K pounds) per year.

Dutch player Darron Reekers is going to be out of action till November due to an operation on his ankle ……

‘It’s now or never . . .’ he said. ‘Something really has to happen, now.’, Chairman Asselbergs
‘If we are going to encourage new sponsors,’ Westermann [...]

David Hemp has arrived in Bermuda and will be hoping to help Bermuda avoid being 20/5 as they usually are……At 36, Hemp has to be the oldest import….. I guess development of the game is not really going to be affected by who plays and who doesnt play in Cricket crazy Bermuda. What will really [...]

Well….. if he is found guilty of dishonesty, then Cann is likely to be axed for good, which will leave Bermuda without 2 of their best players….. I find all of this quite strange, especially the ‘non committal’ attitude of O Brien…… why did he act like a super star when he isnt even a [...]

One of the most glaring things that stands out in the current ICC Champions Trophy is that the first round was not really needed. ICC could have very easily picked only the top 8 teams from the rankings and held this tournament. If the first round was necessary for some reason, and Bangladesh may have [...]

Nepal Cricket recently elected a new executive committee who have very publicly announced an exodus of changes in the game in the country. The somewhat ambitious plans include:
“New negotiation for the stalled work of the ACC central cricket academy, infrastructure development including construction of indoor training facilities just outside of Kathmandu”
“detailed plan will be laid out shortly, Pandey [...]
