So now there are 4 Irish players in the county circuit…… not sure if Neill O Brien is still actively contracted, but this is a good omen for the Irish. Incidentally, there are also some young Irish guys playing in the age groups of some of the counties. I have heard that Kevin O Brien [...]

Zimbabwe has always been a brunt of our jokes, and criticism. Some things happenned for this series which were….. well …… positive. Taibu returned, and returned with a bang. The other good things were that Sibanda and SC Williams were both playing. I have seen SC Williams and he looks like a great player at [...]

It seems that the ICL is now hitting associates as well. But unlike Test countries, this one seems to be a good thing, and one of the few ways in which players from associate countries can make a good living without having to either stay amateurs all their life, or giving up cricket all together.
ICU [...]

I am jumping the gun, but the 2 semi finals have been decided in the ACC U19. It is Malaysia v Nepal, and Afghanista v UAE. The match ups are courtesy of Afghanistan’s upset victory over Malaysia on the opening day of the tournament.
Now lets say Afghanistan and Nepal make it to the finals, then Malaysia [...]

After Netherlands beat Bermuda by an innings, I dont think anyone was expecting any improvements from Bermuda……

I think this is a good omen for Kenya….. once again….. They have [...]

I understand that the Pakistani players are professional cricketers, and that they have the right to take the decisions that are in their best interests….. but I have a question in this regard…..
Lets say that the ICC did not have any player qualification criteria for the national teams….. anyone could play for any country. In [...]

Anyone knows what is being talked about here? I think the idea is to double the dev budgets for the top associates, while reducing the budgets for the others. The funny thing is that all the associates need to vote it in Which is unlikely to happen. But I like the fact that [...]

Malaysia U19 is quite strong…. they have only been beaten by Nepal in the finals of the ACC trophy in the last 5 years…… they have good infrastructure, good funding, good organization, good system, good facilities, and a good touring program. In that light, it was quite interesting to see Afghanistan U19 beat them, albiet [...]
