After Netherlands beat Bermuda by an innings, I dont think anyone was expecting any improvements from Bermuda……
I think Bermuda v Namibia, and Bermuda v UAE will be the ones to watch. I am expecting that if the current state of affairs persists, Bermuda is likely to end up at the bottom end of the pile. Maybe vs UAE, Bermuda will come out on tops ….. but under the current circumstances, I think Namibia is the true deserver of the 6th top associate spot.
I think a lot will depend on where Bermuda play the UAE and Namibia. most teams seem to be struggling to varying degrees away from home so far in this comp over the last couple of years.
Namibia should be in top 6 and not Bermuda. 2009 ICC trophy will take care of this.
Going by how things have been, and also that Bermuda doesnt have an international standard ground, the IC game would most likely take place in UAE and Namibia…… maybe both in UAE……..
Bermuda has the money to build a cricket ground that meets international standards. They just need to get their act together while cricket is in the limelight in that country. They will probably fall off the cricketing map if they don’t qualify for the next world cup.
… and why is Zimbabwe not in the intercontinental cup?
They WILL and SHOULD fall off the cricketing map…… cant see anything happenning given their current team…….
Bermuda needs to import soil (they have the money) and build a pitch suited for hosting ODIs. They need to start hosting Intercontinental cup matches.
well….. by the time they do any of that, they would not have ODI status anymore…….
I think they are waiting for 2009, and then if they qualify, they will bother with the soil……
