Our usual topic for these player migrations is Ireland/Scotland/Netherland viz a vis England, but now it seems Ugandan players want to qualify for Australia.
Frankly, I dont really know the solution to such a problem.

Beyond the Test World reports that the Ugandan Government has forgiven Okello and Ochan and no longer wants to arrest them. I know it’s a big step from this to them playing again for Uganda, but at least it’s a step in the right direction. Perhaps in a year or two when feelings have calmed down it might just happen. Uganda might need them to get out of WCL3.
The same story was reported in the local media.
Whilst it would be good for Ugandan cricket to have Ochan & Okello back I think it would set a bad precedent for them to come back soon. Uganda can’t have people running away every time they tour another country.
On the up side Uganda cricket have a new President who has promised to unite the warring factions which led to such a weakened side being sent to Namibia in Nowember. With some wise leadership and the right coach they’ll be confident of building a stronger domestic base and making the World Cup qualifier in 2009.
