News: Kenya to tour Uganda…

Kenya is going to tour Uganda in May for 3 One Day matches and a 4 day match. This is good for Uganda, and it is good that the countries are organizing tours themselves irrespective of whether they have ODI status or not, and also whether they are playing in intercontinental cup or not.

This is the type of thing that needs to be happening, particularly amongst the countries at the ICC trophy that missed out n the top five spots.
At the next ICC Trophy I feel that the top five from last years tournament are going to have a significant advantage and the meantime the rest need to keep up by playing games with other associate teams to keep their skills sharp.

This is still to be officially confirmed by Cricket Kenya, but would be a great step in the right direction. Ideally I would like to see Kenya A play the One Dayers, and the full team play the four day match.
This will give some of the fringe players a chance to prove themselves, and the national team practice for the Intercontineltal cup.

Your earlier post about getting the counties to tour was spot on by the way.

Chemosit, which earlier post are you talking about?

I can’t find it now. I was sure I had read a comment by you suggesting that the Associates do more in getting counties to tour. Possibly on another site? If it was someone else, my apologies…its still a good idea mind you 🙂

No, I have mentioned it in 3-4 posts…. hence I was wondering which one was it that you are talking about……
