News: Bermuda lose to Sussex second XI…

Both Canada and Bermuda keep on getting worse. Now Bermuda has been beaten by 7 wickets by an English County's 2nd XI team. Surely, the team that you would want to give an ODI status to should at least be able to beat a domestic team of a test country here and there.

As an ashamed Bermudian, Nasir I whole-heartedly agree! Our National team seems to have peaked long before the World Cup, so now I foresee much embarassment once the tournament opens.

Wookie, I hope Bermuda gives a good performance in the World Cup. Hopefully, they would have sorted out the fitness problems of all their players by then, and Clay Smith and David Hemp would add a much needed batting stability in the team.

Are you in Bermuda? Tell us a little bit about why the team is playing like this when it is essentially a cricket mad country, with Cricket as both national sport and pastime?? Is it because of the small size of the country? Because one would expect that if the whole country is mad about the game, to the extent of giving a national holiday on the annual domestic competition’s final, then at least the players would already be professionals, and some cricket economy would be generated.
