News: Afghanistan beat Royal Military Acedemy by 7 wkts….

I havent found the scorecard of this match yet. But here are the vital stats: Afgahnistan beat RMA by 7 wkts, with 20 overs to spare in this 40 over game. Nabi took 4-22, but was not called out to bat, I guess he wasnt required because RMA made only 129 runs.

I will update this very post once I can see the scorecard somewhere.

So with the clubs out of the way and not posing any problems for Afghanistan, we are on to the games that really matter, against the 3 second XI teams from the cricketing counties.

The information on this match is not available anywhere on the net. Either it got rained off, or perhaps Afghanistan lost so badly that it ceased to be news.

There should have been something on this yesterday. But I have been looking and nothing has come up so far, either on Glamorgan site (they dont list this match at all for their 2nd XI) or through the Afghan cricket federation.

Lets see if there is any news on this. I am looking forward to seeing exactly what the standard is of the Afghan team juxtaposed with the English counties.

I was born in Rawalpindi, but have lived in Lahore all my life. So my hometown would be Lahore, not Pindi 🙂

I dont have details yet, but it looks like Afghanistan won against the Glamorgan 2nd XI as well. I will keep looking and if some news piece shows up, I will post it on the blog.

Nasir..I tried Googling for the result of Afghanistan’s match against Glamorgan 2nd XI but….sadly, in vain..I guess you seem to have info that Afghanistan have defeated them as well to make it 3 in 3…Now, Afghanistan should look to play against the first XI counties in future; let the second XIs be spared of drubbings 🙂

I am quite sure that by tommorrow we will have the scorecard and confirmation of the result of this match as well. It is strange that the glamorgan website has no information on this match having taken place at all. They should have, especially if they lost !!!!

I searched the internet to find out the results of Afghanistan’s matches against Glamorgan 2nd XI (June 15), Loughborough UCCE (June 19) and Essex 2nd XI (June 20) but in vain…Anyone has any info about these matches??

All that I’ve got is that Afghanistan’s match against Essex 2nd XI has been delayed due to the late arrival of the Afghan team and that the 40 overs a side match started at 1 PM local time. Essex have named a strong 12 man squad, what with 9 of them having had first-class experience! Also, a certain player by the name of Grant Flower is playing this game, probably the first “active” Test player Afghanistan would be up against…

First of all, the game was not against Glamorgan 2nd XI. It was against Wales Minor Counties. Afghanistan beat them by 3 wkts, with 13 overs to spare, with Nabi making 61. A little too close I think than I expected, since Wales Minor counties is a low ranked team in Minor Counties competition.

Regarding the other matches, I am disappointed that no info is available. I can undersand about the University, but Essex should have given an update, at least on the result.
