News: Bangladesh whitewash Kenya 3-0…

I think, Kenya cricket team should officially change their name to the “80/5” team…. because that is always their scoreline, whether they are playing Canada, Bangaldesh, or anyone else……. perhaps they should experiment with reversing their batting order…… they will probably end up being 80/5 again, but at least all their batsmen would be coming in next…….

1 down position is the tricky one for Kenya….. they dont have the talent coming through to fill that up…… today they tried Malhar Patel…… and I think he was using Jimmy Kamande’s bat…… because the patheticness seemed to be contagious…… even Ouma got bogged down…….

Hiren Variya should have played both the 2nd and the 3rd ODI, unless he was dropped due to non availability…… he took wickets against Canada, but they should have given him a go against the test team to see where he stands……….

Dropping Modi for Brijal Patel was the most comical thing I have ever heard……. if your decent batsman is not in the nick, then try a hopeless batsman !!!

Kenya now have the Australian academy tour to look forward to……

I was quite sure that there was some kind of an African tournament involving Kenya, Namibia, Uganda and some other associates in the end of August……. but I ust checked the schedule, and it only has the teams BELOW these 3……. this means that African cricket association is not organizing anything for Uganda and Namibia this year??? Thats silly………..

From WC minnows in 1992 to WC Champions in 1996, SL took the entire cricketing world by storm….Kenya aren’t any different except that they are doing it in the opposite direction…From WC semifinalists in 2003 to…??…Sadly, Kenya are now in a position where they are even struggling against Canada and getting thrashed by Bangladesh…If Kenya had a team good enough to beat England in the 2003 WC, now they’ve a team that may even struggle against strong county second XIs…maybe UAE and Namibia are better than Kenya while Uganda, Afghanistan and Nepal seem to be fast catching up…

Even when they were minnows….. Sri lanka had Ranatunga, De Silva, Wicremasnghe, Mahanama, Gurusinha, Tilakaratne……. in the next 4 years they managed to find Kaluwitharna, Vaas, Murali and gave oppurtunity to Jayasuriya to open…… and ….. essentially they found only 1 world class player in a year between 1992-1996……

Kenyan bowling is now still as strong as 2003…… they have lost Suji, but found Ngoche…… they have lost Collins Obuya in ability, but found Variya……. Ongondo has improved…… still ok…… but their batting is the main problem…… they have lost Odumbe and Shah…… Otieno is a shadow of his former self….. Tikolo is getting sick and tired of doing everything on this own……….. Jimmy Kamande might as well be Jimney Cricket…….. Mishra hasnt as yet delivered against Test teams…………..

An african league 1 would have been nice to give Namibia, Uganda an outing against Kenya……..
